Spicy Pasta Sauce

Serve this spicy chili beef sauce over pasta of your choice.



Ingredients:
19 oz / 540 ml Canned diced tomatoes
¼ cup / 60 ml ketchup/ bottled tomato sauce
10 oz / 280 ml canned sliced mushrooms, drained
1/3 cup / 75 ml chopped green capsicum
1 ½ tbsp / 25 ml lemon juice
¾ tsp / 4 ml dried oregano
½ tsp / 2 ml dried basil
1 bay leaf
2 tsp / 10 ml chilli powder
¼ tsp / 1 ml garlic powder
1 tsp / 5 ml sugar
1 ½ tsp / 7 ml salt
¼ tsp / 1 ml pepper
1 lb / 450 g lean beef mince
1 cup / 250 ml chopped onion

Method:
Combine first 13 ingredients in 3.5 L slow cooker.
Fry beef mince and onion in fry pan until beef is brown. Drain well. Add to slow cooker. Stir. Cover. Cook on Low for 6 – 7 hours or on High for 3 – 3 ½ hours. Discard bay leaf when cooked.

Makes 5 ¼ cups.
